We have two new segment rules that will let you reach the right audience for every campaign. You can now target by location or by the value of an abandoned cart. For more on how to use Segments with Broadcasts or Experiences, see this article.

1. Location. Target customers based on their location by state or time zone. This can be used to ensure you’re messaging people at the most convenient time, or to inform customers about local deals. We determine a customer’s location based on their shipping address. Area code is used when shipping information is not available.

From the drop down, select either “State” or “Timezone” under Location.. You can add additional criteria to your segment by clicking the “AND” or “OR” button.

2. Abandoned Cart Value (Shopify only). Target based on the cart value that was discarded. This can be used to offer different deals depending on the amount that was abandoned, or to follow up with prospective customers in a timely manner.

You can segment by dollar value of the cart that was abandoned. From the drop down, select “Has Abandoned Cart Value” and choose a condition. Select either “Less than," "Equal to," or "Greater than" and input the amount.
